First High Table Dinner of Amity College
The AmityCollege held its first High TableDinner on 23 November 2015.
The Master ofAmity College, Dr. Ben Cheng, explained that “樂群” and “Amity” had a meaning of peaceful relationship, harmony andfriendship between individuals or groups. Dr Cheng shared the College’s theme“Community Service” and his personal experience in serving the least privilegedin society. He highlighted that the objective of the College was to provide communityservice, leadership development, and social opportunities for students.
President Simon S M Ho shared the topic “Leadershipand Community Service” with the participants. He encouraged students toconsider using their professional knowledge to serve the community. He alsoadvocated the philosophy of servant leadership that focused on the growth andwell-being of people, and pointed outthat a servant-leader always puts the needs of others first and help people todevelop.
