A seminar “Cost vs Sustainability in Transport and Logistics” was carried out in Hang Seng Management College on 8 October 2015 (Thursday). It was our pleasure to invite two distinguished guest speakers for the seminar: Mr Allen Yu, Vice President, Operations from DHL Express (Hong Kong) Limited and Ms Linda Ho, CEO of Green Council. The seminar also marks the launching of the website of Supply Chain Decarbonisation project. Thanks to the effort of the project team and information technology services team.
Mr Allen Yu, Vice President, Operations from DHL Express (Hong Kong) was invited to share the latest development of GoGreen Program in DHL and carbon reduction in DHL operations. Ms Linda Ho, CEO of Green Council delivered a talk on the findings of a recent study, “Review on Lean and Green – Feasibility Study in Hong Kong”.
We are glad to invite Mr Franki Li, Chairperson of Young Members Committee (YMC), The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong (CILTHK) to share the latest development of the activities in CILTHK. The seminar was organised by the Department of Supply Chain and Information Management from a funding research project supported by the Research Grant Council fund. The project aims to develop a carbon footprint tool kit including decision support tools for sustainability and operations efficiency. The participants included project team members from the final year students of Hang Seng Management College and students from Department of Supply Chain and Information Management. The professional talk was supported by Research Grant Council of Hong Kong Special Administration Region, China (Project Reference No: UGC/FDS14/B20/14).
