29 July 2015
HSMC students from the Department of Supply Chain Management successfully completed the joint-university consulting projects, organised by the International Institute of Management Limited (IIM), in summer 2015. The IIM Intervarsity Undergraduate Practicum Scheme (IUPS) provided collaborative opportunities for inter-university students to gain consulting work experiences in local organisations. Students from different universities were formed in a project team to define a project plan according to the clients’ requirements, complete tasks, and deliver oral presentation as well as a final report as the deliverables of business solutions within six weeks. Apart from the clients’ recognitions, some HSMC students also won individual awards presented by IIM.
Dr Edward Liu and Dr Daniel Mo served as the IUPS programme coordinator and project mentor respectively to provide consulting advices for inter-university students to handle the real-world business challenges of managing a consultant project.
News about BBA-SCM program
We are very proud to announce that on 24 July 2014, our BBA-SCM Programme has been selected by the Education Bureau of HKSAR Government to join the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions (SSSDP). It is the first time in Hong Kong that an undergraduate programme in the SCM field run by a self-financed institution has obtained the subsidy from the Government.
This year, apart from the 70 places under the SSSDP, an additional 35 self-financed quota for BBA-SCM (Year 1) has been approved by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications. Please take this chance to enrol.
