Visit to Disneyland
Students from TRA3103 Public Relations Translation visited Hong Kong Disneyland for a sharing session on public affairs delivered by the Director of Media Relations, Ms Lana Wong. She shared with our students the nature and character of the industry. Her department oversees corporate citizenship, corporate social responsibility, government relations and media relations. All her colleagues work for a common goal: promoting a long-lasting positive change in the community.
Ms Wong reiterated the importance of understanding corporate culture in the public relations industry. There is no one single corporate communication approach that fits all companies. She reminded students to gain a full grasp of the corporate culture before settling on a promotional strategy. Disneyland is an icon of dream and imagination. Story telling is thus an apt and fitting approach for advertisements, events and press releases.
